“It’s time to grow."
Our vision and mission also tie in with the ‘Growth Mindset’ philosophy. Having a growth mindset means believing that a person's abilities aren't innate but can be improved through effort, learning, and persistence. A growth mindset is all about the attitude with which a person faces challenges, how they process failures, and how they adapt and evolve as a result.
“Plant, Nurture, Harvest”
We achieve our vision by teachers planting new subject content, skills, values and/or personal goals. Learners have to grow their knowledge, skills or values by nurturing (working at) them. Here teachers and learners practise and engage together in growing what was planted – nurturing. At the end of our nurturing, we need to measure whether learners are able to do the work independently – harvesting. Learners will, by completing assessments, be able to measure to what extent their hard work (nurturing) and efforts have paid off.
